Repetition is doing or making exactly the same thing, over and over again.  I think of seriality as making or doing something from the same starting point, but each time allowing for a slightly different result.  The starting impulse, or the genesis of the gesture, is the same, but as it travels through the material world it is altered, rendered specific and particular.
